A number of NGOs venture to respond to the post disaster shelter needs but few claim specialization in this sector. Understanding, Policies and practices in this sector have just crystallizing. A huge opportunity exists in the form of shelter interventions to address post disaster recovery and mitigation.
„Settlement Planning & Shelter in emergencies‟ is a four-day residential course run by RedR India that helps you understand strategies and practices that are intrinsic to shelter sector and humanitarian sector in general. The course is part of RedR's Training Programme, which aims to improve the effectiveness of specialist and non-specialist in emergency response.
RedR India will run this course with participants predominantly from South Asia, though it is open to participants from other parts of the world. The course is run with up to 30 participants.
